- 1968 Plymouth Barracuda
- Engine 426 Hemi
- Bob's letter about the car - This car was built in 14 months in our shop from a shell except for the Gary Hansen chassis and the Harry Holton engine. We made our first run at the Infinion Raceway National Event in July which was a pretty imperssive 9.06 at 148. With just two runs on the car we headed to Indy for the Hemi Shotout. Our Goal was to make it to Indy to be a part of the shotout. We qualified in the middle of the field with an 8.99 which was very respectable for a new car. Upon returning from Indy we found all the intake valves were bad and had to be replaced. We ran the car at the Las Vegas National Event in October and the Points Race in November and we picked up the car considerbly. The car was then taken to Pomona for the season ending World Finals qualifying #11 and running a best of 8.79 at 150. The car really hasn't left the starting like it should so there should be better numbers to come. Wtih only 15 runs on the car we are very happy so far with our performance. I would like to thank everyone who was involved with the car especially Dave McEniry for the paint and body work and Gary and Lynn Hansen for the great chassis. The car turned out to be one of the nicest SS/AA cars in the country, we are extremely proud of it. I had a picture of it in my head of what I thought it was going to look like, it turned out way nicer than that picture. -Bob
